Thanksgiving will be in the rearview mirror before we know it, but there are still great live shows to come in the month of November.
The music includes everything from OG death metal to synth 80s pop.
Here, in chronological order, are the three concerts not to be missed for the rest of November.
1.) Napalm Death, Wednesday November 16th
This one is at the Rock House Bar & Grill. Napalm Death is one of INVENTORS death metal and grindcore.
These guys had already released several albums when Cannibal Corpse was still a Cannibal Warm Body. This show, with Brujeria opening, is a must for all fans of extreme metal.
Here’s Jim Carrey doing his Napalm Death impersonation thirty years ago on “The Arsenio Hall Show”…
2.) Goo Goo Dolls, Sunday, November 20e
Goo Goo Dolls are a band that played one of our KLAQ Downtown Street Festivals in 2016.
This time around, they’ll be performing at the Plaza Theater on their Chaos in Bloom tour. For a band that has lasted forty years together, lead vocalists guitarist Johnny Rzeznik and bassist Robby Takac still form the core of the band.
If you’re nostalgic for the pop/rock sounds that dominated 90s rock radio, don’t miss this one!
3.) Anything Box, Friday, November 25e
End the month with 80s synthpop favorites Anything Box. This is another club show at Rockhouse Bar and Grill at 9828 Montana.
It’s the day after Thanksgiving. So if you graduated between 1985 and 1993 and “Less Than Zero” was your favorite movie AND book, this could be the perfect ” Friends“date for you and your former crew.
In addition, you will have NEED to get out of the house and the whole Black Friday-Door-Buster scene is so 2011.
